Mt. Hood Theatre has always been an important place for entertainment in Gresham, Oregon. For many years, Mt. Hood Theatre has encouraged families to see films together. Before family movie nights were accompanied by streaming services and a couch, the theatre offered children’s discounts. The theatre is often described by the community as a popular place that played a significant role in their childhoods. The theatre made an effort to connect with people and even created discounted student movie programs for local schools.
Mt. Hood Theatre offers seasonal passes for students at Troutdale Elementary School. An elementary student can watch ten films, while accompanied by two parents or grandparents, for only $9. The theatre also offered Woodland Elementary School matinee season passes, admitting children to watch nine films for $8. The original price of tickets purchased separately is $3 each film. The child can only be accompanied by two parents or grandparents. The films chosen for this particular matinee included, Trolls, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life, Storks, Monster Trucks, Moana, Sing, A Dog’s Purpose, and two mystery films.
