The Old Trail Drive-In commonly offered two different showings per night. They had two family nights a week, Tuesday and Wednesday, and advertised the different types of accommodations for families, like a bottle warming service, and showing cartoons for children. They are tailored to families, showing cartoons at their shows, making it a family staple in the community.
Another promotional strategy they used was a "Dusk to Dawn" showtimes on select Saturdays. You paid one dollar for a car full, which later increased to $2 a car full, and were able to watch five different movies starting at dusk. On Saturday June 21, 1958 their advertisement for a “Dusk to Dawn” show offered five different movies that all were different styles, so there was something for everyone. From westerns, a mystery, science fiction, and “last but not least a surprise.” Catching people's attention and having them stay throughout the night. They put an ad out in the newspaper labeled "Let's Have a Party!” under their normal ad for their normal hours for a showing of two films.
They also used the theater in other ways to draw people in, like car auctions. If movies weren’t your style, they advertised multiple different car auctions that they would hold there. You had to bid with “theater money.” This could be bought at different stores throughout the city, so it was easy to get some no matter the errands you were running. They were sold at drug stores, laundromats, motor shops, Dairy Queen, Jacksons Food Market, electric and air conditioning stores, ladies stores, and even more.
